Little Hay Golf Complex is one of those Dacorum facilities that locals treat as furniture: a public course, a driving range, a walk on Box Lane with a bag of clubs. The operator is now changing.

The council has selected Absolutely Together to manage the site, with a package of proposed improvements: adventure golf, padel courts, visitor accommodation and shot-tracking on the range. Those are leisure-industry standard upgrades. They are also a bet that Little Hay can be more than a municipal course squeezed by housing pressure.

Residents will want two assurances. First, that pay-and-play golf remains affordable. Second, that any rooms or padel courts do not eat the public landscape that makes Box Lane worth visiting without a tee time.

We will follow the planning applications as they appear. A brochure is not a permission.
